Hélène Thiffault

After studying in communications, Hélène started a career in production when she joined “Publicité Complice” to become their new advertising producer for radio and television.  She worked there for almost 10 years.  In 1989, she moved to Paris, where she was hired by Téléfilm Canada’s satellite office as their liaison officer for the cinema and television industry, ensuring their presence in different markets and festivals on the European territory. Upon her return to Quebec, in 1997, Hélène brought her experience to the Bureau of International affairs at the Sodec where she helped with the first edition of  “Les journées du Cinéma du Québec” in Paris. Still for the Sodec  she facilitated Quebec’s presence at Midem, Mip-tv, and at the Cannes Festival.

Since 2000, whether under the name of Productions Equinoxe or Lyla Films, Hélène has been an active participant in every project developed by Lyse Lafontaine.   As Coordinator of Development and Operations, she was able to follow the creation of different movies like Lauzon Lauzone, Laurence Anyways, Camping Sauvage or Mommy’s at the Hairdresser.
